Easy Apple Pumpkin Beer Bread
It’s over. The end of 2020. A lot of us stayed home for a lot of the year, and some of us still need to in order to stay safe. So, what do you do when you are stuck at home in winter? Bread making was all the rage early in the pandemic. I didn’t jump on the bandwagon exactly. But I did make this Easy Apple Pumpkin Beer Bread that turned out amazing! I really do like to use beer in baking, especially bread-like types of recipes. The yeast in the beer works perfectly in most recipes. This Easy Apple Pumpkin Beer Bread does not disappoint and will distract you from what’s really going on out there!
The Brewery
The brewery where this tasty bread-making beer came from, is Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company, in Canmore, Alberta. This is one establishment I’ve had the chance to visit while camping in the mountains before. Established in 1996, The Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has become a landmark destination by locals and tourists alike. You can visit the downtown Pub, Tank310 for some good eats and beverages, or their tasting room to sample their brews. Find out more about Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company on their website, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
The Beer
The beer used in this Easy Apple Pumpkin Beer Bread is the Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Ale from Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company. The beer pours a clear maple brown with a thin line of beige head. The smell is a little sweet with some spice and earthiness, which might be the pumpkin I am smelling too (earthy and sweet?). The taste has a subtle spice to it with hints of your classic pumpkin spices – nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, clove and ginger. It is grainy and bready and tastes like it belongs in this recipe. The mouthfeel is smooth and pillowy, medium-bodied, low carbonation and overall an easy to drink fall/winter beer.
