Pale Ale Yogurt Marinated Chicken Breasts

Pale Ale Yogurt Marinated Chicken Breasts

Okay, so it’s been a while since I have posted. Spring got away from me a little, but I have remained active on Instagram showing you what craft beers I have been trying out. One of the great beers I did try this spring, but waiting until now to post, was the Ten Peaks Pale Ale from Canmore Brewing Company. When I had this beer, I thought it would be great to incorporate it into a recipe, and alas, here…

The Beersar and the 50th Anniversary of the Caesar

The Beersar and the 50th Anniversary of the Caesar

Being a Canadian, I am very familiar with the Caesar cocktail. It’s a cocktail that I enjoy all year round; in the winter months its spiciness can warm me up, and in the hot summer sun on the patio, they go down like water. This year is the 50th anniversary of the national cocktail, invented in Calgary in 1969! I am excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Caesar by creating a Beersar!

Lager Beer and Pineapple Juice Chicken Tacos

Lager Beer and Pineapple Juice Chicken Tacos

I have made tacos, or taco-like dishes before, and a couple of times with beer. These are a little different in that I am using my Instant Pot to make the shredded tasty chicken part of the taco. And, of course, there is beer involved! These Lager Beer and Pineapple Juice Chicken Tacos were undeniably my favourite of the tacos I have done. They were juicy, full of flavour, and just down right addicting.

Pilsner Beer Chicken Meatloaf

Pilsner Beer Chicken Meatloaf

First off, before you leave, know that I hate meatloaf too. It has never been a choice food for me, being that I am not the biggest fan of ground beef, plus it’s meat… in a loaf… Eck… but I stumbled upon a recipe of regular meatloaf with beer added to it to add more flavour and moisture. I decided to give it a go, using ground chicken instead of beef, making this Pilsner Beer Chicken Meatloaf. I selected a…

Coq Au Stout (a.k.a Stout Beer Chicken Stew)

Coq Au Stout (a.k.a Stout Beer Chicken Stew)

If you have ever had or heard of coq au vin, then I think you know where I am going with this coq au stout recipe. Yes, I am taking the classic French dish coq au vin, replacing the red wine with a dark stout beer, and making coq au stout. The end result? A rich, delicious tasting stout beer chicken stew that did not disappoint at all. And, of course, an Alberta Craft Beer stout was used in this…

Pale Ale Beer Pickles

Pale Ale Beer Pickles

In the USA it is almost Thanksgiving, and who doesn’t love pickles on the Thanksgiving dinner table? Actually, pickles are good anytime of the year, in my opinion, especially these pale ale beer pickles.  Adding beer to the pickle brine gives it a tang and hoppyness, yet allows the salty, garlicky flavours to still shine through.  If you are looking for other Thanksgiving ideas, how about trying a beer brined turkey!? It would be the perfect way to present your…

Saison Beer Sauteed Chili Shrimp

Are you looking for a simple dinner that can be made on a busy work night? This saison beer sauteed chili shrimp recipe is so quick, it is now a staple in our house. Stout Beer Cherry Sauce

Stout Beer Cherry Sauce

If you know me, you know I like to make simple dishes while using craft beer.  One of the most simple ways that I have found to incorporate beer into a recipe is to use it to make a sauce.  I made this stout beer cherry sauce using an Alberta porter beer from Theoretically Brewing, and used it to glaze a grilled pork loin.  And you guys, it was so good! So good and so easy!! The recipe below is…
