Summer in Peru: A Pisco Cocktail
When we went to Peru in November of 2016 we fell in love with Pisco. Pisco sours to be specific, but I wanted to find a way to make another drink other than Pisco sours, and that’s where this Summer in Peru cocktail comes in! If you haven’t heard of Pisco before, it’s a fortified wine that is 40% alcohol, made in Peru or Chile. There’s a little debate between the two countries of who founded Pisco first. Peru says they do and Chile says they do. All I know is that Peru founded Pisco for us! This cocktail will be perfect for camping on hot summer days. It’s refreshing, sweet and bubbly. Pretty much what I think would be the perfect cocktail for a hot summer in Peru!
Summer in Peru: A Cocktail
One thing I love about cocktails is that they can be super easy to make and people think you are amazing for making them! Or at least my husband thought I was amazing for making this!
Easy steps include grabbing the most fancy champagne flute you can find. I don’t have two champagne flutes the same, so this is as fancy as I get!
Pro tip: Putting your Pisco in the freezer will ensure your cocktail is perfectly chilled for those hot summer days!
Pour 1/2 ounce each of Pisco, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and fresh squeezed lemon juice into the champagne flute. Top with your favourite sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon wheel and enjoy!
