  • 1 box Cheerios
  • 1 box Shreddies
  • 1 bag pretzels
  • 1 bag cheese crackers
  • 2 cups peanuts
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. caesar rimmer or celery salt
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. hot sauce
  • 2 tsp. onion powder
  • 2 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1 tsp chiles

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
  2. On the stove I put a pound (yes a whole pound! This is not diet food!) of butter into a pot and added Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, Aleppo chiles (use any kind of chiles), and caesar rimmer (if you don't have caesar rimmer, just use celery salt). Let the butter melt while all the seasonings mix in. Bring to a boil and then remove from the heat.
  3. Add all of the pretzels, nuts, cheese crackers and cereals to a large roasting pan and mix up well.
  4. Drizzle the butter mixture over the nuts and bolts and give it a good stir. Put the roaster in the oven, uncovered, for 2 hours, taking it out every 20 minutes to mix well. I put the lid on and with pot holders, give it a good shake.
  5. Let the nuts and bolts cool and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Make it your own way by adding mixed nuts, different cereals or anything you like.
Make it more seasoned by adding more of your favourite seasoning - e.g. more garlic or spicier with more hot sauce/hotter chiles
My dad would take the bolts out of the roaster and into a thick paper bag and shake them in there every 20 minutes. It makes them more crunchier and less greasy.
